Ignore ‘mainstream’ local media. If you want a more comprehensive news story, check how it is being reported outside of your area or nation. Read the stories about your nation from the viewpoint of other nations media, they do not have an agenda. Every story has numerous sides and until you have heard from the different sides, you are not able to make a well-informed judgement. Our democratic system is based on this principle. This is why we have courts and judges. We the people, hire certain people to hear all sides of a story and we have empowered them with the right to pass judgement. We should all be judges for ourselves.
